Digital Humanities Research Group

The working group Digital Humanities was founded by the Department of Computer Science on the occasion of the retirement of Prof. Dr.-ing. Günther Gürz retired on Oct. 1, 2012. It will carry out research projects at the interface of computer science and humanities, in particular those related to the virtual research environment WissKI.

The professorship of Artificial Intelligence will be continued as professorship of Knowledge Representation and Processing and was awarded to Prof. Dr. Michael Kohlhase in the Winter semester 2016/17. The former Chair of Artificial Intelligence no longer exists as a separate chair, but was merged with the Chair of Theoretical Computer Science, which Prof. Dr. Lutz Schröder has held since the Summer semester 2012. In order to document the prehistory, the outdated pages of the former professorship of AI are also filed here.
